Herbs for Remedies Part 2

In our last herb blog we discussed catnip, cilantro, dill, chives, and a few other herbs that we wanted to give you a little more information than the obvious. This time, we have a few other ones to focus on:

MINT

This not only helps with your breath, but aides in digestion and allergy relief. You can just put a few sprigs in hot water for a quick tea as well!

PARSLEY

French foods go to! It helps blood to clot in addition to contributing to bone health. Parsley is rich in vitamin C and other antioxidants, which help reduce the risk of serious health conditions like diabetes, stroke, heart disease and cancer. It’s also an excellent source of: Vitamin A

ROSEMARY

Winter arrangements are filled with this, because this herb smells like Christmas!

SAGE

Burn this shrub to refresh the energy in your home… or you can brown this in butter and stir into soups for a little extra flavor!

THYME

This is in the oregano family and it often used in stews, to season meats, veggies and sauces. Thyme is particularly rich in vitamin A and vitamin C. Vitamin A is an antioxidant known for being vital in maintaining healthy mucus membranes and skin as well as good vision.

WINTERGREEN

Pain relief from wintergreen leaves? Yup! Wintergreen leaf contains an aspirin-like chemical called methyl salicylate. It has effects that might reduce pain, swelling, and fever.
