Going Bigger — Freedom Over Texas in Downtown Houston
If your family wants to go all out this year, Freedom Over Texas at Eleanor Tinsley Park features country star Keith Urban headlining, preceded by Collective Soul and Los Lonely Boys, with a Texas-sized fireworks finale starting around 9:30pm. Tickets are $15, free for ages 5 and under, running from 3pm to 10pm. And if you’d rather skip the ticket price, the fireworks can be seen for free from miles around Downtown, with the best views along Buffalo Bayou, Allen Parkway, and Memorial Drive. A Note on Fireworks Safety
Before you light anything at home, know your zone. The City of Katy strictly forbids the use of fireworks, but this law only applies to addresses within Katy proper. If you are in an unincorporated area of Harris, Fort Bend, or Waller County, rules may differ — always check before lighting up. welchdentalgroup

And don’t forget your furry friends. Keep pets indoors, make sure their tags and microchips are current, and know that the number of lost pets spikes every July 4th.
