Dr. Sonali Demla
Dr. Sonali Demla was born and raised in Oklahoma. In high school, Dr. Demla found her passion for a career in dentistry. She completed her bachelor’s degree at The University of Oklahoma, where she also was very involved in leadership and volunteerism through campus organizations such as Campus Activities Council and President’s Community Scholars. She even participated in dental mission work in Panama with Global Dental Brigades.
Dr. Demla earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from The University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. She continued her passion for leadership as she became the President of the Dental Student Executive Council (DSEC) as well as the President of the Student Government Association Executive Council (SGAEC), which oversaw the entire University of Tennessee Health Sciences campus. She was awarded the International College of Dentists Student Leadership Award as well as selected to represent her graduating class on the University of Tennessee Alumni Association Board.
Dr. Demla continued to seek continuing education opportunities to better herself and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at The University of Oklahoma, which trained her in many aspects of dentistry including placement and restoration of implants, and full mouth reconstruction. In addition to this, Dr. Demla is certified in both nitrous oxide administration and oral conscious sedation.
In giving back to her profession and continuing her passion for leadership, Dr. Demla founded the American Association of Women Dentists (AAWD) Houston Chapter. Dr. Demla continues to volunteer at various events – such as, Texas Missions of Mercy and Give Kids a Smile – which benefit underserved populations and provides free dental services to adults, children, and veterans whose access to care is limited.

When Dr. Demla is not practicing dentistry, you can find her playing tennis, spending time with loved ones, and cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners!
