Dr. Katie Stuchlik grew up in Houston, Texas and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin. There she obtained degrees in Human Development and Radio-Television-Film. While attending UT, Dr. Stuchlik played on the Club Water Polo team and also served as the University’s mascot, Hook ‘Em. After graduating in 2008, she spent time in the research lab of Dr. Miguel Cruz, PhD at Baylor College of Medicine. There she studied treatments for systemic inflammation. Dr. Stuchlik then entered the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston, where she graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2015.
While in dental school, she served in several leadership positions within the American Student Dental Association. Upon graduating dental school, Katie was honored with the International College of Dentists’ Leadership Award. She continues her involvement with dental organizations to gain knowledge and grow as a leader in the community. She currently serves not only as a member of the Houston Academy of General Dentistry Board, but also the Texas Dental Association’s Committee as the New Dentist Chair. Dr. Stuchlik is a nominee for the Texas New Dentist of the Year for 2017.
Dr. Stuchlik is a continuing education junkie. She is an Invisalign™ provider and a member of the local Space City Space Closers Study Club. She is also a member of the Houston Academy of General Dentistry Study Club, where a variety of topics ranging from implants to TMJ disorder are discussed. Dr. Stuchlik aims to learn as much as possible in order to provide the best care possible for the patients of Welch Dental Group.

Dr. Stuchlik serves the community by participating in several volunteer events. She is a member of the Junior League of Houston, where she currently volunteers making dolls and blankets for the patients at Texas Children’s Hospital. She also participates in events such as Texas Mission of Mercy (TMOM) and Veterans Smile Day; those entities provide free dental care to those in need.
When she’s not treating patients and serving others, Dr. Stuchlik attends early morning workouts at CrossFit Yellow Rose. Dr. Stuchlik is married to her “CrossFit Sweetheart”, Ben, where it was love at first Power Clean. Dr. Stuchlik and her husband have a miniature Austrailian Shepherd, Rex, who is just as mischievous as you’d imagine. Dr. Stuchlik also enjoys running and has completed 4 half marathons with the most recent completed at a sub 2 hour time in January 2018.
