Dr. Daniel J. Hearrean (pronounced Hair-in) is a longtime resident of Katy, Texas. After graduating from Taylor High School, Dr. Hearrean attended Stephen F. Austin State University where he completed his undergraduate studies. In 2002, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Texas School of Dentistry in San Antonio, Texas. Afterwards, he returned home to Katy where he interviewed as an Associate Dentist at Welch Dental Group. He has been an integral part of its successful growth ever since; as his dedication to providing access to quality dentistry for the members of his community has been first and foremost!
In keeping up with the continuing education requirements of his degree, Dr. Hearrean attends courses throughout the year to ensure that he is providing the most up-to-date and advanced care for his patients. His services encompass a wide range of skill sets, including dental implant placement and restoration, Invisalign™ for teeth straightening, and both cosmetic and general dentistry. Dr. Hearrean is also trained in the use of Cone Beam Computerized Tomography, better known as CBCT. This medical imaging technique provides a single scan, two and three-dimensional view of teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways, and bone. The imaging may be used for the treatment planning of orthodontic cases and oral surgery; accurate placement of dental implants; detecting and treating tumors; locating the origin of pain and pathology; diagnosing temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ); and evaluating the jaws, nerve canals, sinuses, and nasal cavities, among other uses.
As his vast experience allows him to complete more complicated and lengthy cases, he also maintains his certification in oral conscious sedation. Providing his patients with the alternative of oral conscious sedation allows them the opportunity to complete more of their treatment in a single session, while in a relaxed state; contributing to a more pleasant overall experience. Dr. Hearrean also maintains certification in nitrous oxide (commonly known as laughing gas).
In support of his profession and the advancement of dentistry, Dr. Hearrean is a proud member of the following organizations:
• American Dental Association
• Texas Dental Association
• Greater Houston Dental Society
Dr. Hearrean enjoys giving back to the community and serves the Katy area by participating in the Katy Independent School District Care Program. This program was developed to provide emergency dental care to KISD students whose families do not otherwise have the necessary means to seek dental treatment, in certain situations. He also partners with the Greater Houston Dental Society to offer emergent and primary dental care, at no charge, to veterans who have no other means to access care by volunteering his time and facility for Veterans Smile Day.
A proud supporter and fan of the local sports teams, Dr. Hearrean may be found cheering on the Texans, Astros, or Rockets with great enthusiasm!
